Polyester pleated filter cartridges use synthetic polyester media with a large pleated filtration area for particulate removal and prefiltration of process water, chemicals, wastewater, cooling water, solvents and other compatible industrial liquids.
This polyester pleated filter cartridge uses pleated polyester synthetic-fiber media to increase the available filtration area within a compact cartridge. The pleated structure provides a large contact area for particle retention and can help achieve relatively low pressure drop and longer filtration runs compared with lower-surface-area filter constructions. Commercial polyester cartridges are available in different micron ratings, lengths and housing connection configurations.
The cartridge is primarily intended for industrial liquid filtration. Typical applications include process water, RO pretreatment, wastewater, cooling water, chemicals, plating solutions, solvents, hydrocarbons, synthetic lubricants, paints and coatings. Polyester media is also used where good mechanical durability and chemical resistance are required, although actual chemical compatibility depends on the specific fluid, temperature and cartridge construction.
The exact construction can vary by model. Polyester may be used as the filtration media with polypropylene or polyester support components, cores and end caps depending on the design. Common commercial specifications include 0.1–200 μm filtration ratings and 10–40 inch cartridge lengths, while some products use different dimensions or micron ranges. Therefore, filtration accuracy, temperature, differential pressure and dimensions should be confirmed against the specific model before selection.
